So I am kicking off my blog with a bead soup challenge from my local bead store. I've done a lot of swaps (through sites like swapbot and crafster) but this is my first time trying to bead something on a deadline.
So basically, a bead soup challenge is where beads are exchanged and you have to use at least half of the beads that you're given to create a piece by a specific date.
oh vey!
I got some gorgeous beads:
(apologies for my atrocious camera skills)
So then I headed off to Pinterest to get inspired. (bad idea). I decided that I NEED (read: Michelle, you don't need anymore projects- Yes I do!!!) to recreate these earrings:
(Valentino - Runway Earrings)
I also found a bracelet that I think would be killer to try with my soup mix:
Now granted- Some modifications are in order. Not just due to copyright? beader code of ethics? but because I just don't have the skills to do this. But, I think it's a good jumping off point. Also, I have been dying to learn to bead around a bead. And of course, because in for the penny in for the pound try a new bead (twin beads to be exact).
There is an awesome free tutorial for this:
Wish me luck! I'll update with my progress Xo!
